Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 6, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Acme Inc., doing business as Acme ("we," "us," or "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on https://acme.example (the "Site"). It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files placed on a browser or device. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, software development kits, local storage, and scripts that store or access information on a device or communicate with another service.

These technologies can support essential Site functions, remember choices, measure use, display third-party content, measure advertisements, or support advertising across websites.

Our default analytics

Our default, first-party analytics service is designed to work without cookies or persistent visitor identifiers. It provides aggregate information about Site use and is not used for personalized advertising or cross-site tracking. It may briefly process technical request information to generate aggregate reports, secure the service, and prevent abuse. See our Privacy Policy for more information.

Categories of technologies

Strictly necessary

These technologies are needed to provide a feature you request, protect the Site, route traffic, submit forms, or remember your privacy choices. They cannot always be disabled through our Site settings. You can configure your browser to block them, but parts of the Site may not work correctly.

Analytics

Analytics technologies help us understand how visitors use the Site, identify errors, and improve content. The default analytics service does not set cookies. If an optional third-party analytics service is enabled, it may use cookies or similar technologies and is subject to the consent and opt-out choices described below.

Functional and embedded content

These technologies support features supplied by third parties, such as maps, videos, social media posts, reviews, or sharing tools. The provider may receive technical and interaction information and may set its own cookies. Some embedded content connects to its provider when the page loads.

Advertising

Advertising technologies may measure campaigns, attribute visits or inquiries to an advertisement, create audiences, conduct remarketing, and personalize advertising on other services. These technologies are nonessential. When they are enabled, we provide consent or opt-out controls as required by applicable law.

Technologies currently in use

This list reflects the Site's current configuration and is reviewed when services are added or reconfigured.

  • Site administration session — Strictly necessary. Keeps signed-in staff authenticated in the Site's administration panel. Storage item: session. Typical duration: session (expires on logout or after a period of inactivity).
  • Acme analytics — Analytics. Aggregate, cookie-less traffic measurement. Storage item: none. Typical duration: not applicable.

Your choices

Notice and available controls

We provide information about the technologies in use and any available opt-out methods above. If a technology requires prior consent in your jurisdiction, it is blocked until consent even though the rest of the Site uses notice-only mode.

Browser and device controls

Most browsers let you delete or block cookies. Blocking cookies may affect Site functions and third-party content. Browser controls generally do not prevent all pixels, server-side measurements, or similar technologies.

Where required by law, we also honor recognized Global Privacy Control signals as requests to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising for the browser or device sending the signal.

Advertising controls

When advertising technology is enabled, you may use our "Privacy Choices" link to opt out where available. You may also use controls offered by the relevant advertising provider. Provider-level choices may apply across services but are managed by that provider.

Third-party providers

Third-party providers appear here only when they are identified in the current-technology table above. If we later enable a provider such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Maps, YouTube, or the Meta Pixel, we will add it to that table and describe it here before it goes live.

Third parties control their own technologies and may change them. Their processing is governed by their own policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices, technologies, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy and update the "Last updated" date.
